Passionate for all things equine.
My name is Beth. I am a 25 year old equestrian and primary school teacher based in Central Scotland. I have the pleasure of owning Bo. He is a 14.2hh Welsh Section D gelding who fills my life with complete joy.
Bo and I just hack out. He is 19 now and has arthritis so we enjoy pottering around and spending time together. This suits Bo perfectly and he enjoys what he does.
I, on the other hand, would like to do a little bit more and so I have set myself the goal to buy my second horse this year (see New Year Goals 2021). I’d like to go out and do a bit of competing and get something as an allrounder to have fun on. I’m super excited for the journey and I hope you’ll join me as I meander my way through it!
I started this blog in December 2019 as an online journal of my equestrian life. As well as this, I also provide information on training methods that I use as well as horse care in general based on my own experience. I especially enjoy the behavioural aspects of working with horses so relationship building and understanding equine behaviour is a large feature.
I have learned a lot in my time with horses. I’ve worked with many different kinds and temperaments and I’d like to share some of the things I have come to learn in that time and share my journey.
Disclaimer- any information recited in this blog is either gained through my own experience or through appropriate sources which will be suitably referenced in due course. I do not claim to know everything or advocate the only way with horses. What I know is my way, and I’m always open to new understandings.
